The success of a public building is a function of the degree to which physical resources (the building), human resources (the staff), and technological resources (the supporting systems) work together. Our approach to the design of public facilities starts with comprehensive programming, to enable us to understand the available resources. The value we add is in identifying how to bring these resources together for the benefit of the institution.

Our designs are remarkable in the degree to which they transform constraints into opportunities and resolve seemingly incompatible requirements. Our experience in an enormous range of building types, combined with our expertise in corporate and institutional facilities, enables us to bring even greater value to our public clients. Our thorough comparison of multiple design alternatives helps our clients make the difficult decision necessary for ultimate project success.

We have decades of experience dealing with the entire range of issues unique to public bidding and construction, including bonds, prevailing wages, retainage limitations, subcontractor listings, nonproprietary specifications, and available funds certification. Our fluency with alternative project delivery methods and bidding and scheduling strategies enables us to tailor projects to programmatic, budgetary, and occupancy requirements of our clients. Our facility with building codes and standards enables us to identify the design and construction implications and compare the advantages and disadvantages of multiple design options.

"Their experience, promptness, efficiency, and eye for detail have clearly differentiated the services of their firm from others we have dealt with in the past."

-C. Marchionda, Administrator, Sussex County

"We were glad we retained The Goldstein Partnership. They have brought great value to our project and have given Atlantic Highlands a building of which to be proud."

-Adam Hubeny, Borough Administrator, Atlantic Highlands

"The Goldstein Partnership was able to integrate environmentally responsible building principles seamlessly into its design."

-Fred Profeta, Mayor, Township of Maplewood

Many Municipalities and Counties decide that a new building project, or the renovation and/or expansion of an existing building, presents an opportunity to collocate or consolidate departments that have previously been located elsewhere into a single, mixed-use structure.

Our Mixed-Use Municipal and County projects have included the collocation or consolidation of uses and department such as:

• Municipal/County Administrative Offices
• Police Offices of Emergency Management
• Courts
• Libraries
• Health Clinics
• Education
• Community Centers
• Community Meeting Rooms
• Auditoriums
• Public Records Storage
• Museums

We provide these services to help our Municipal and County clients do more with less cost:

• Thorough Needs Assessments
• Site assessments
• Identify ways to improve the efficiency of an existing building in order to make space available for additional uses.
• Identify operational opportunities that arise from collocation, and quantify their short- and long-term costs.
• Design well thought out buildings that respond to these findings.

Our Mixed-Use Municipal and County clients include:

• Atlantic Highlands
• Belleville
• Branchburg
• Chesterfield Township
• Elizabeth
• Hightstown
• Hillsborough
• Hopatcong
• Jersey City

• Maplewood
• Monroe Township
• Montvale
• Oceanport
• Orange
• South River
• Sussex County
• Union County Police
